COVID Update 10/14/2021 – Letters from Mr. Thielman

October 14, 2021

Dear Parents and Community,

Late this afternoon we were notified of two students who have tested positive for COVID.  One is a First Grader and the other is a Sixth Grader.  The two are siblings and their cases have been traced to a source outside of the school.  The two were last in attendance on Tuesday, 10/12/21 and had first symptoms early Tuesday evening.
I am asking parents of our first and Middle School age kids to monitor their child for symptoms and if concerned or in doubt seek testing.  An COVID infected case usually manifests symptoms in the first 2 days with the Delta variant so please be vigilant.  I have attached some information to help guide our families and I thought it would be useful to provide some answers to the top ten Frequently Asked questions.
As always, feel free to text or call me at 509-220-5313 or email me at marc.thielman@alsea.k12.or.us.  We are all in this together and it is a true honor to serve such an amazing group of students, staff, and families! Go Wolverines
Sincerely,
Marc Thielman
