Alsea Community Once Again Shows Generosity to Alsea Students

January 31, 2023

When Miss Jones wanted to upgrade her 4th grade classroom library, she created a “wish list” of books on Amazon which included books requested by her students. When she shared this wish list to her personal Facebook page, donations flooded in from the Alsea community, the Alsea Wolverines Booster Club, her personal friends and family, and best of all, her past teachers. Miss Jones is new to Alsea School, so this is her first taste of how the community always steps up to support Alsea students.

Miss Jones shared this message with supporters and the Alsea School family: “It has been so overwhelming to me to see the outpouring of kindness and generosity for my students. On our first day back from winter break we had tons of boxes delivered, and the kids and I were able to open them together. It was so much fun, and the kids have been SO EXCITED! Their interest in read-to-self has skyrocketed since seeing books that reflect their lives and interests. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated to our classroom and fueled 4th grade’s love for reading!”

Welcome to the Alsea School Family, Miss Jones! We were glad to help!
