Alsea School District Welcomes New Superintendent

The Alsea School Board is pleased to announce and welcome Krista Nieraeth as the new superintendent of the school district effective July 1st, 2023.

According to board chair, Risteen Follett, “Ms. Nieraeth will make an exceptional superintendent for our district, and we’re excited to have her. Her experience as a teacher combined with outstanding leadership skills only adds to her ability to relate and make positive changes for our district, staff, and students.”

Ms. Nieraeth currently serves as a K-12 Principal, Special Education Director, and Federal Grants Coordinator for the Port Orford – Langlois School District (OR). Prior to her current assignment, she served as high school principal and athletic director at Port Orford from 2013 to 2016; and as secondary math and science teacher for seven years in the Klamath County School District before that. Ms. Nieraeth earned both her Master’s Degree in Education Administration and her administrative credentials from Concordia University.

The Alsea School Board is pleased to have Ms. Nieraeth as our new superintendent and look forward to many successful years working together.
