The Alsea Schools Family Outreach Program (AFO) is a vital community-centered initiative designed to connect students and families with the resources and support they need to thrive. Recognizing that academic success depends on stability at home, AFO works to remove barriers to learning by providing access to essentials such as clothing, hygiene products, and school supplies through partnerships with local organizations like the Vina Moses Center, and the Assistance League of Corvallis. The program also offers individualized support including parent coaching, mentoring, advocacy, and referrals to social services for housing, food, and health care.
In response to recent changes in SNAP and other assistance programs, AFO has strengthened its efforts to help families locate food resources, emergency funds for bills, and local support networks. Whether a family needs help applying for benefits, finding community food pantries, or simply someone to listen and offer encouragement, the Family Outreach Program is there to help.
To continue meeting the growing needs of our community, AFO welcomes financial donations, gas cards, grocery or store cards, and laundry cards. We are also currently in need of new/gently used sneakers, leggings, sweats, sweatshirts, socks, and underwear for students of all ages.
