The Alsea School Board (ASB) met briefly Monday night to appoint a new board member to the seat left open by the resignation of Robert Webb. This opening was announced at the January 25, 2023 ASB Special Meeting. The board reached out the community members who volunteered in Spring of 2022 to fill the seats left open by the Board Recall Election. Alsea alum Soren Rounds was selected from that pool to serve as a temporary board member through June 30, 2023.
Three ASB seats will be up for election in May of 2023. Board Chair Risteen Follett says the ASD needs new members who are able to fully engage in the role of board member by giving of their time freely in a spirit of service leadership, participating in school activities, and sharing responsibilities of board members.
