How to Participate in the Budget Planning Process for 2023-24

The public is encouraged to participate in the budget planning process for the 2023-23 school year. The Budget Planning Calendar can be viewed here:

All meetings are open to the public. On April 18th, a copy of the budget will be available on the school website. You can also request a bound copy to pick up at the District Office. However, there is no discussion or comment on the proposed budget until the initial budget meeting, which will take place April 25 at 6 pm in the school library. A budget training will take place that same evening at 5 pm in the library. Both of these meetings are great opportunities for the public to bring questions and comments. There will be a second budget committee meeting on May 2nd at 6 pm in the library, with two additional meetings if more discussion is needed on May 9th and May 16th . On June 8th , there will be a public hearing at 6 pm before the Regular Board Meeting at 7 pm. Both of these meetings are another great place for public comment and questions. The Alsea School Board will need to approve the proposed budget at the June board meeting in order for the final budget to be submitted by the deadline of June 30th.
